Radiology Department

The Radiology Department provides a high quality diagnostic imaging service to in-patients, out-patients, day-care, theatre, Local Injury Unit and the Medical Assessment Unit.  Imaging is provided by Diagnostic Radiographers to assist with the diagnosis and treatment of patients.  The imaging modalities available at St. Johns Hospital are X-ray, CT scanning and Ultrasound scanning.

G.P. Referrals by appointment only. Chest x-rays by appointment only.
8.30 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.
(closed between 1.00 p.m. – 2.00 p.m.)
Monday - Friday

Opening Hours

Medical Assessment & Local Injuries referrals will be accessed via these services.
8.30 a.m. – 6.00pm
Monday – Friday

Access to Service

Requests for X-Ray/Ultrasound/CT examinations are accepted from appropriate referrers (Doctors, Dentists or dedicated ANP’s).

To avoid disappointment, all out-patients must have an appointment for examinations. Appointments can be made in person or by posting the request letter/card to the Radiology Office (contact details below).

There is a 24 hour on-call and weekend emergency service for in-patients only.
